![]() I don't know if this is feasable in the bounds of java, but on paper it makes sense. I guess the amount of aliens in a world would just hit a max, and almost be constant. The amount of aliens in the world before one will respawn could be set at a number thats intimidating to players, but low enough vanilla mobs will still spawn. So there aren't so many aliens that minecraft won't spawn new mobs, and aliens aren't really lost, they're just not in play at all times. So an alien comes into existence, does stuff, despawns, goes into a list of aliens to respawn when the current aliens despawn, respawns at its associated hive, and goes back to doing its thing, only for the cycle to continue. When the amount of aliens goes below a certain threshold due to aliens dieing or despawning, an alien not currently existing but on the tracker spawns within a certain radius of the hive it is associated with's queen. Each alien should have a tag of sorts attached to it corresponding to the hive nearest when it came into existence, and if there is no hive, then it doesn't even get added to the tracking system. When an alien despawns, it goes into a queue to respawn. Recording their jelly levels, health, and other stats, deleting them from its memory when they die. ![]() What if instead of aliens never despawning, a system kept track of how many aliens have come into existence. I remember when mobs stopped spawning, I didn't know it was due to aliens not despawning. Alas, the xenomorph sandbox I wish for cannot be. ![]()
